Blood Bank is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week but depending on the Blood Bank, some of this may be on an on-call basis

Blood Bank is located in the largest public hospital within the District Health Board

Transfusion Nurse Specialist:
Contact an NZBS Transfusion Nurse Specialist via your local Blood Bank

Transfusion Medicine Specialist:
Office hours: your local TMS can be contacted via the Blood Bank of your local District Health Board .

Out of hours: A TMS is on call nationally. Please contact the Blood Bank of your local District Health Board and ask to be put through.

Haematologists: Haematologists employed by your local DHB are available through an on call roster. To consult with the Haematologist call the telephone operator.
